Week of August 29th to September 2nd

BHS girls soccer community,

We have had our first full week of 2016 girls soccer and I'm encouraged by the depth of talent at every level in our program. Of course, my opinion is useful only in the echo-chamber that is pre-season, competitive reality will be established as early as next week when the varsity and JV teams open their season away at Newport HS on Friday evening. Although there's a lot of preparation work still to go, we'll be ready. The JVC team opens their season at Bothell, on Wednesday, September 7 at 6:00pm. All team schedules will be posted on our program website, or you can check Kingo results and schedules here throughout the season. But always double-check your weekly game schedule with your respective coach or parent-manger as some game times may change across the season (especially JVC).

Our next week will include our last few days of "pre-season" training when we benefit from the full use of the BHS stadium field. Once school begins next Thursday, we will begin our regular season practice schedule, and will be restricted to much smaller spaces than we enjoy now. With three boys football teams, and three girls soccer teams at BHS, field space is scarce and must be shared across all of our teams. So we will do our best to get as much done as we can in the space we share.
