PLEASE READ AND USE AS A CHECKLIST FOR BHS GIRLS’ SOCCER ELIGIBILITY AND IMPORTANT DATES!

Upcoming:
  • ImPACT Testing Summer Dates: June 24th, June 26th, August 19th, August 20th, August 22nd and August 25th
    • No registration, impact test takes approx. 30–45 min - no computer needed.
    • Testing begins at 2 pm - PLEASE arrive before 2PM.
    • Meet BHS staff at the Commons door (front of campus).

1. Paperwork. Incomplete paperwork will prevent you from participating in the first day of tryouts. All registration requirements can be done early. Get it done. Required Paperwork includes all 4 of the following:
  1. Register for tryouts in Final Forms (available May 15th)
  2. ImPACT Testing – Any of the dates listed above.
  3. Complete Valid Physical (email to [email protected] or upload into FinalForms)
  4. Fill out the Booster Club Player Profile

2. Captain's Practices. Once per week during the summer we host optional "Captain's Practices", opportunities to get together and just play. Returning upper-class players will organize and host these practices. It is a chance to reunite with our BHS teammates who play for different clubs, and an excellent way for incoming freshmen to get to know the program before the potential nervousness of tryouts. Intentionally, these are not structured sessions, but rather a chance for the girls to just play. Self-organize into small teams and compete. Have fun. Try new things on the field. Get to know future teammates. And yes, they are optional. Really. But please try and attend as many as you can. I will attend these sessions, but mostly to just bring the pinnies and soccer balls. The upper-class players are in charge. All practices at BHS stadium from 10am – 11:30am.
  • July 8th, Tuesday
  • July 17th, Thursday***time changed to 5:30pm
  • July 22nd, Tuesday
  • Aug 3rd, Thursday
  • Aug 5th, Tuesday
  • Aug 14th, Thursday
  • Aug 19th, Tuesday
3. Tryouts. August 25th, 26th and 27th, 10am-noon. BHS Stadium Field. If you want to play soccer for BHS next fall you need to attend tryouts. Full stop. Tryout results will be posted the evening of Wed, Aug 27th and all teams will begin training on Thursday, Aug 28th. All players must have 10 practices in order to compete in the first regular season game, so it is imperative to attend all practices following tryouts.

We expect to have three teams in the fall: Varsity, JV, and a C-team. Our game schedule will be published on our website as soon as it is finalized. For planning purposes, we know that we will not be playing any games over Labor Day weekend.

4. Kingco League Reorganization. Our league changed last year, having a big impact on our schedule. Kingco no longer organizes schedules based on classification (2A, 3A, or 4A), but instead organizes schedules using a ranking system based on results from previous years. In the inaugural ranking process for all 24 Kingco programs, Bellevue girls soccer was ranked #2 (behind two-time defending 4A state champs Skyline) and similar to our 2024 season, our 2025 Varsity/JV regular season schedule will include games against the other top-ranked teams in Kingco (Issaquah, Eastlake, Mt. Si, Woodinville, etc.).

5. Communication. We use Final Forms, Booster Club email (MailChimp), TeamSnap and our website to communicate within our program. If you need to get on our Booster Club mailing list, please contact Courtney Tucker at [email protected]. Our website: www.bellevuegirlssoccer.com.

6. Balance Fitness and Rest. High school soccer seasons are short but demanding. Be prepared. Don't be that player who dazzles the first 10 minutes of tryouts and then has her hands on her knees in exhaustion for the rest of the session due to fitness issues. Be fit. However, many of you will be training with your club teams all summer. I have learned that oftentimes we have more players in need of a break than additional fitness. And that's OK. Don't forget to give your bodies and minds the rest required to heal and recover. It's a balancing act. The goal is to be as fit as you can be in late August, while still feeling refreshed and ready for the upcoming challenge. And the fitness tests during tryouts (foreshadowing...).

7. Coaching Staff. We are fortunate to have an amazing coaching staff this fall: Peter Cochran (Varsity), Carlie Gilbert (Varsity Assistant), Annika Strandell (Junior Varsity), and Imad Haque (goalie coach). Their bios are on our website. We are actively working on bringing in a new C-team coach, we will update as those roles are filled.
