11/27/2021 JVC - Inglemoor and Lake WashingtonYes, we had to play on a tiny field AGAIN, and will most likely play on one again this season. The point of C team is to learn from several experiences, like every season there are ups and downs. We surely learned from the loss against Inglemoor, a bigger school. The first half of the game was poor from a Bellevue perspective, we were unlucky to concede the first goal early, almost against run of play. We played with confidence and poise before the goal. Right after the first goal, we seemed to be mentally drained and made mistake after mistake. The first half ended with 4-0 scoreline, without a single clear chance for Bellevue. No one likes to be on the losing end of a score like that, especially coming off a loss playing on a similar small pitch the previous game. Coming out unto the field the second half, We played for pride and got back to playing disciplined and fun soccer, we started sharp and scored from a pair of goals during the second half. A more impressive stat or fact was during the second half. Most of the soccer was played at the Inglemoor half and they did not record a single shot on target in the second half hence Bellevue winning the second half 2-0, ending the game with a 4-2 score line. The second half performance was a testament to how mentally strong the girls are, they refused defeat and fought for every single ball to reduce the deficit.
We continued that good performance against lake Washington, overwhelming the opponents defense and finished the game with a resounding 5-0 win, as I mentioned to several girls after the game, they and the team played their best soccer of the season against Lake Washington, there were lots of shots, interplay, fluidity and most importantly, we COMMUNICATED on the field. We currently sit at the middle of table, have scored the most goals in the league. We look forward to the upcoming against Redmond and back to our home field against Eastlake. Comments are closed.
