BELLEVUE CONTINUES TO ROLL

Varsity Sept. 20 vs. Interlake Bellevue Girls Varsity Soccer took their first game seriously; yet, patience played a factor.  It took 23 minutes of nice possession before Jojo Harber scored goal #1.   After that, the girls’ confidence soared and at minute 29, Senior, Tracy Monk assisted a Sabrina Mohazzadfar goal.   A PK attempt by Sabrina was dutifully saved by the Interlake goalie.  Halftime brought the BYSC U7 Girls team to play in a halftime scrimmage.  Thanks for the support!  In the second half, Bellevue sealed the deal with a 3rd goal by Harber from an assist by Senior, Madeline Bach.  The goal threaded the needle to score.  And finally, for the hat-trick, Jojo Harber hit an outside shot from 14 yards out into the right upper corner of the net for the final, 4-0. JVC took on Juanita tonight, and ended with a solid 7-0 win. The girls passed the ball so well tonight, practicing dropping the ball back to defense and swinging across and up to midfield. Our holding mids (Abi and Sydni) really did a good job of providing options and keeping a triangular shape, using the outside defense and wings to push the ball up the field.  Junior Varsity Sept. 20 vs Interlake The had another convencing win over interlake on Saturday 3-1 to move their record to 4-0. JVC Sept. 15 vs Juanita JVC took on Juanita and ended with a solid 7-0 win. The girls passed the ball so well tonight, practicing dropping the ball back to defense and swinging across and up to midfield. Our holding mids (Abi and Sydni) really did a good job of providing options and keeping a triangular shape, using the outside defense and wings to push the ball up the field. Our two central defenders (Mia and Elizabeth) are doing an incredible job of providing support and keeping their forwards from receiving the wall.  Annika (2 goals)
Bella (1 goal)
Maddy (1 goal)
Peggy (1 goal)
Claire (1 goal)
Kelly (1 goal) Sept. 17 vs Lake Washington Having just played Eastlake (and won 7-0) the girls knew that LW would be more challenging, and it was. In the first 20 minutes, Madeleine Seeley crossed the ball from way outside and scored the first goal (it was a beautiful shot). Shortly afterwards, LW came back with a high shot that went just out of our keeper's (Paige) reach. At the end of the first half, Jordan Crandall took a hard, low shot that just missed LW's keeper's hands, and scored our second goal.  Second half, Maddy sent another cross in which Kelly M. finished into the goal... or so we thought. The keeper dove for the ball (landing IN the goal) and while doing so barely hit her head on the post. Although we have photographic evidence that the keeper was across the goal line with the ball, the ref decided since "the keeper was hurt" and since she said she wasn't sure if it was a goal (btw what is up with refs asking players to make decisions?!),  not to count it and gave them a goal kick instead. What is really unfortunate is that the very next play LW came back down the field and scored again, making it a 2-2 tie.
